Important Information Regarding COVID-19

Dear Clients and Families, We hope you and your family are well and safe during this time of concern surrounding the COVID-19 virus. At Haven Youth and Family Services, our staff members are taking steps to best support our clients while promoting safety and well-being.  In order to follow the CDC's recommendations of social distancing, Haven has transitioned over to remote services.  Your therapist should have already reached out with this update, but if not, please reach out immediately to Haven. We are taking proactive measures to provide therapeutic assistance in response to increased anxiety related to the COVID-19 and it's impact on our community.


Our Plan:

Effective immediately, Haven Youth and Family Services will closed in order to decrease the spread of COVID-19. Haven’s staff will be offering teletherapy sessions for existing clients. If you have any interest in engaging in teletherapy as a new client please reach out to the contact information below. Although the physical doors to Haven are not open, you can still connect with a Haven staff member for therapeutic assistance, interest in community support, or general questions.


**Haven is offering community support phone sessions at no cost in response to the increase in anxiety that we have seen as a result of COVID-19. These 20-minute sessions offer immediate, short-term support to community members (including parents!). Interested in speaking to us? Call 847-251-6630 between 9:30 A.M. and 5:00 P.M, Monday-Friday to connect with a Haven staff member, or you can email Kate our Intake Coordinator at kate@havenforyouth.org.


What It Looks Like:

Haven will continue to provide teletherapy sessions for existing clients-Haven will continue to provide emergency housing services-Haven will continue to monitor COVID-19 information and make adjustments as needed-Haven will work to effectively and appropriately respond to the evolving community needs.

Continued availability and support over the phone or virtually.


What we expect from you:

Take care of yourself: Move your body, eat and sleep well, limit your social media use, meditate, and promote those behaviors with your family and friends.

Seek support: If you find yourself in need of additional support, do not hesitate to reach out to the Haven team.


We are grateful to be part of this community and want to remind everyone that while social distancing is recommended – we encourage you to avoid mental isolation. Find ways to emotionally connect with your family and friends during this time. We are stronger together.
