Haven Youth and Family Services in Winnetka has formed anew Young Adult Board.
The board is made up of young, professional, community-minded adults from 21 to 35 years old who have a strong desire to serve youth and adolescents and promote health lifestyles. The board’s first meeting will be held Aug. 20.
The purpose of the Young Adult Board is to create public awareness of Haven Youth and Family Service’s mission, foster a spirit of volunteerism, learn skills necessary to serve in voluntary leadership roles with non-profit organizations and participate in occasional fundraising events that enable Haven to continue its work within the North Shore communities.
The Young Adult Board will meet approximately four times a year, and members will have an opportunity to meet peers, network with one another and socialize with others in the Chicago area.
The Aug. 20 meeting will be held at Lottie’s Pub, 1925 W. Cortland St., Chicago, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. There is no charge to attend, and appetizers will be provided.
No reservations are necessary, and guests are welcome.
